Bokaro (Jharkhand) : With a view to providing a platform to nurture talent of students in various fields of arts like visual art, singing, instrumental music, dance and orchestra, DPS Bokaro organised DPS ‘Star Contest’ 2020 on its campus recently. At the open contest, students from Classes 6 to 11 took part enthusiastically and demonstrated their talents in individual and group performances.

Praising the electrifying performances of the youngsters, Principal, DPS Bokaro, Jharkhand, A S Gangwar, said, “The Star Contest’ is a great platform to exhibit versatility. Here, students are encouraged to choose their area of interest and perform live on stage which not only enhances their creativity but also instils confidence among them.”

The winners of the contest in DANCE (SOLO) : Aditi Agarwal of Class  X/D  got the first position, Yash Aryan of  XI/F  bagged the second position while Diya Sinha of IX/A came third. In Song (SOLO) :  Hardik Shree of Class IX/B got the first position followed by Prem Anand of IX/C. Anushka Ganguly of XI/G  bagged the third position.

In INSTRUMENTAL (SOLO) Ajndeepta Maan of Class VII/A got the first position while the second spot was jointly bagged by Yash Sinha of Class VII/C and Ritul Kumar Singh of IX/C respectively. Pratyush Raj of Class IX/C was adjudged third. In INSTRUMENTAL- Band (GROUP) Deep Singh & Group of IX/E secured the top spot followed by Pranav Tiwari & Group of class VII/E while the Group of Divya Prakash Singh of class VIII/C got the third spot.

In VISUAL ART (SOLO) Tamanna Ray of VIII/D got the first position. The second position was bagged by Aditya Kumar   of VII/C. Third position was jointly bagged by  Abhijeet Kumar of VII/B  and  Raag Nirav of IX/A. In VISUAL ART (GROUP) Prapti  & Group  of VI/D and Jiya Vaishnavi & Group  of IX/E bagged the top spot followed by joint second winner Suryank  & Group of class IX/E and Rishank & Group of VIII/A. Darshna & Group of VIII/A secured third spot.

A special assembly was organised on February 7, 2020, at DPS Bokaro where names of winners were announced and given away the prizes for individual and group competitions. On this occasion, the best class of the session was also announced wherein Class VII D bagged first position in Junior Group and XII A was recognised as the best class in Senior Group. The children also received certificates for their contribution in ‘Phulwari’- nurturing nature for a greener tomorrow.
