Chas (Jharkhand) : On the second day of  ‘Cultural Week’ function of DPS Chas in Bokaro district on August 7, 2019, the  magnificent show of talent in  ‘Visual Art’ by the participants in the Inter-House Competitions won hearts of hundreds of guests, teachers, and other students present on the occasion.

The day was marked by the aesthetic presentation of visual art by the students of four houses :  Ganga, Jamuna,, Sutlej, and Chenab, which was an amazing display of art, craft, and unique creations using colours and natural vegetation. The Inter-House Visual Art Competition included activities like Poster Making, Face Painting, Flower Arrangement, On the spot Paintings, and Rangoli for the display of the artistic beauty by the young students in their own innovative way which was a visual treat.

In the poster making senior group competition, Jamuna House bagged the first place followed by  Chenab House while  Sutlej   got the third position whereas in the Junior Group, Ganga House emerged winners followed by Sutlej House. In Rangoli competition, Chenab won the championship while Sutlej House was the first runner up and Jamuna House was the second runner- up. In the flower decoration, Sutlej got the first prize while Chenab came second and Jamuna third.

In the face painting competition, Jamuna House came first, Chenab came second, and Ganga third. In the spot painting competition for seniors, Ganga House bagged all three positions – 1st ,2nd and 3rd .

Appreciating the creative art of students, Dr Hemlata S. Mohan, Chief Mentor of DPS Chas and present CCRT Chairperson, said such competitions brings out the hidden talent of children for which the school  is providing platforms. “Such competitions introduce us to our Indian Culture and at the same time skills of aesthetic, creativity and innovation can be developed among the children,”said Dr Mohan. She congratulated the teachers who worked relentlessly for the success of such programme.
