Ara : Manager, Fatehpur Branch, South Bihar Gramin Bank, Manoj Kumar, was thrashed and injured by some miscreants outside the bank on July 18, 2019, evening, when he was waiting for a vehicle to return home at Ara after closing the bank. Refusal to sanction bank loan to a person is said to be the reason behind the incident. He was admitted to Primary Health Centre (PHC), Piro, but the doctors referred him to Ara Sadar Hospital after first aid.
An FIR has been lodged by Sikarhatta police stationĀ against one named and two unnamed persons on the statement of the bank manager but no arrest has so far been made in this regard though the police re conducting raids to arrest the miscreants.
According to SHO, Sikarhatta police station, Manoj Kumar, Manager, Fatehpur Branch, South Bihar Madhya Gramin Bank, said that he lived in a rented house at Awadhpuri under Nawada police station, Ara, and went to the bank from there daily. He said that an application for loan from a person, a resident of Bagheda Tola, was referred from Ara branch to Fatehpur branch some days ago but he had rejected the application on technical ground. OnĀ his refusal, the applicant concerned got infuriated and he along with his associates attacked him from behind and injured him when her was waiting for vehicle for Ara outside the bank at Fatehpur.
