Patna : South Africa (SA) scored a modest 241/6 in 49 overs against New Zealand (NZ) in the 25th match of ICC World Cup at Edgbaston, Birmingham, UK, on June 19, 2019, with Rassie van der Dussen scoring an unbeaten 67 in 64 balls hitting 2 fours and 3 sixes and opener Hashim Amla scoring 55 in 83 balls with 4 fours. NZ won the toss and opted to bowl.The match was reduced to 49 overs each side due to rain.

South Africa lost the wicket of opener Quinton de Kock with only 9 runs on the board. Kock fell to fast bowler Trent Boult for 5. Amla and captain Faf du Plessis then added 50 runs for the 2nd wicket. Du Plessis fell to fast bowler Lockie Ferguson for 23. Amla and Aiden Markram added 52 runs for the 3rd wicket. Amla fell to spinner Mitchell Santner for 55. Markram fell to Colin de Grandhomme for 38 in 55 balls with 4 fours and it was 136/4.

Rassie van der Dussen and all-rounder David Miller added 72 runs for 5th wicket. Miller fell to Lockie Ferguson for 36 in 37 balls with 2 fours and a six. Miller completed 3,000 runs in ODIs in 109 innings. Andile Phehlukwayo also fell to Ferguson for zero and it was 218/6.

For NZ, Lockie Ferguson took 3/59 in 10 overs.
