Patna : South Africa (SA) scored 149/5 in 20 overs in 2nd T20I against India at Punjab Cricket Association I S Bindra Stadium, Mohali, on September 18, 2019, night, with captain & wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock scoring 52 in 37 balls hitting 8 fours and Temba Bavuma scoring 49 in 43 balls with 3 fours and a six. The first T20I was washed out due to rain.

Opener Kock and Bavuma added 57 runs for 2nd wicket. Kock fell to fast bowler Navdeep Saini while Bavuma fell to fast bowler Deepak Chahar. David Miller fell to all-rounder Hardik Pandya for 18 while Rassie van der Dussen fell to spinner Ravindra Jadeja for 1. Opener Rezi Hendricks fell to Deepak Chahar for 6 making it 31/1. Dwaine Pretorius remained unbeaten on 10 while Andile Phehlukwayo remained unbeaten on 8. Deepak Chahar took 2/22 in 4 overs. India won the toss but opted to bowl.
