Patna : South Africa beat Zimbabwe by 4 wickets in the 3rd ODI at Boland Park, Paarl, South Africa, winning the three-match ODI series 3-0. Chasing a target of 229, South Africa made 231/6 in 45.5 overs riding on 66 in 82 ball with 5 fours and six by opener Reeza Hendricks and 42 in 40 with 7 four by his opening partner Aiden Markram. Wicketkeeper Heinrick Klassen made a quickfire 59 in 67 ball with 6 fours and a six. Khaya Zondo remained unbeaten on 25. Klaasen and Zondo added 66 run for the fifth wicket.
Openers Markram and Reeza Hendricks gave a brisk start to South Africa adding 75 runs for the first wicket in 12.3 overs. Captain Faf du Plessis made 26 while Jean-Paul Duminy was out for 1.
Earlier, opting to bat after winning the toss, Zimbabwe were all out for 228, a fighting total, in 49.3 overs with Sean Williams scoring 69 in 70 ball with 10 fours and wicketkeeper Brendon Taylor 40 in 44 ball with 6 fours. Captain and opener Hamilton Masakadza made 28 while medium fast bowler Donald Tiripano made 29 with 5 fours. Spiner Brandon Mavuta made 18 with 2 fours.
For South Africa, fast bowlers Dale Steyn and Kagiso Rabada took three wickets each while Adile Phehlukwayo and spinner Imran Tahir took two wickets each.
