South Africa all out for 258 in 2nd innings in Centurion test

Patna : India need to score 287 runs to win the second test against South Africa at SuperSport Park, Centurion, South Africa, who were all out for 258 in 91.3 overs in their second innings after tea on the fourth day on January 16, 2018.

A B de Villiers was the top scorer for South Africa with 80 runs in 121 balls hitting 10 fours while opener Dean Elgar made 61 in 121 balls hitting 8 fours and a six. South Africa Captain made 48 in 141 balls hitting 4 fours while Vernon Philander made 26 in 85 balls hitting 2 fours. Morne Morkel remained unbeaten on 10. South Africa had made 335 in their first innings while India had made 307 in their first innings.

For India, Mohammad Shami took 4/49 in 16 overs while Jasprit Bumrah took 3/70 in 20 overs. Shami took the wickets of Elgar, de Villers, Quinton de Cock, and Kagiso Rabada while Bumrah took the wickets of opener Aiden Markram, Hashim Amla and Captain Faf du Plessis. Ishant Sharma took 2/40 in 17 overs accounting for Philander and Keshav Maharaj. Spinner Ravi Chandran Ashwin took 1/78 in 29.3 overs taking the wicket of fast bowler Lungisani Ngidi. For the second consecutive test, the Indian bowlers have taken 20 wickets.
