Patna : South Africa (SA) were 95/5 in their first innings in the 2nd test against India at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune, in the second hour of play on Day 3 staring at a massive defeat. Captain Faf du Plessis is batting on 27 while Quinton de Kock is batting on 21.

Resuming at their overnight score of 36/3, SA lost the wicket of nightwatchman Anrich Nortjei at 41 and that of Theunis de Bruyn at 53 making it 53/5. Nortje fell to fast bowler Mohammad Shami for 3 while Theunis de Bruyn fell to fast bowler for 30 with 6 fours. Umesh Yadav has taken 3/27 while Shami has taken 2/24.
