Patna : World No 36 Sourabh Verma, 26, India, entered the final of Ecogreen Syed Modi International Badminton Championships, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 300 event, at Lucknow, UP, India, on November 30, 2029, defeating World No 44 Heo Kwang Hee, 24, South Korea, in a three-game thriller in the semi-finals.

Sourabh will face 8th seed Wang Tzu Wei, 24, Chinese Taipei, in the final on December 1, 2019. Sourabh has won two Super 100 titles in 2019.

Sourabh edged past Hee in three-games 21-17, 16-21, 21-18 in 75 minutes in SFs at Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium, Lucknow. Sourabh won 58 rallies in the match to 56 by Hee. He won 6 consecutive points in the match to 4 by Hee. It was first meeting between the two players.

World No 22 Wang Tzu Wei brushed aside 7th seed and World No 43 Son Wan Ho, 31, South Korea, in straight games 21-9, 21-7 in 32 minutes in the other semi-finals. Wang won 42 rallies in the match to just 16 by Son Wan Ho. Wang won 10 consecutive points in the match to 2 by Son. Son Wan Ho, however, still leads Wang  5-1 Head to Head.
