Patna : World No 38 Sourabh Verma, India, November 12, 2019, qualified for the main draw of Yonex-Sunrise Hong Kong Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500 event, winning both his qualification matches at Hong Kong Coliseum, Hong Kong.

Sourabh, elder brother of World No 17 Sameer Verma, India, first beat World No 39 Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk, Thailand, 21-15, 21-19 in 45 minutes and then defeated World No 79 Lucas Claerbout, France, 2-19, 21-19 in 46 minutes in the next match to qualify for the main draw. Sourabh will face World No 35 Brice Leverdez, France,  in first round on November 13, 2019.

World No 10 Kidambi Srikanth, India, who was scheduled to face World No 1 and top seed Kento Momota, Japan, in first round on November 13, has got a walk over after the Japanese withdrew from the contest.
