Son of panchayat Sarpanch abducted in Nawda

Nawada: Ten year old son of a panchayat sarpanch was kidnapped by two motorcycle borne unidentified criminals on Monday morning in Nawada district. An FIR was lodged with Kawakol police station in this connection.

According to police sources, Tantan Kumar, son of Nawadih panchayat sarpanch Ramesh Kumar, had come out in the morning to attend the call of nature. The moment he reached near Nimdih high school premises, two criminals astride a motorcycle pounced on the boy and sped away before the public could react. Nawada SP Vikas Dev Burman while confirming the kidnapping attributed the incident to old enmity due to recent panchayat elections. SDPO Ram Pukar Singh has launched raids to recover the boy. Ramesh was  elected as sarpanch for the second time recently.
