Ara : Some students, who have brought laurels to the Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, could miss an opportunity to participate at the East Zone Cultural Festival (EZCF) at Darbhanga next year if the VKSU administration sticks to its decision to select the team for EZCF on December 20, 2018.
Amit Kumar, VKSU Student Union President, said that EZCF is to held from January 3 to January 7, 2019, at Darbhanga and the VKSU is preparing to send a culture team there and for this it fixed December 20, 2018, to select the team. Amit Kumar said that a 40 member team of the VKSU had gone to Darbhanga to take part in 25 different events at the cultural competition there in October 2018 and the team won four awards and brought laurels to the VKSU. The same team went to Shahjahanpur, UP, to take part in the National Drama Competition ‘Sharangam’ there from December 16, 2018 to December 19, 2018. The team is returning on December 20, 2018, night.
Amit Kumar said that the EZCF is to be held at Darbhanga from January 3 and the VKSU is preparing to send a strong team there and for this a screening test is scheduled for December 20, 2018, even as the award winning team is away. Amit said when he contacted the Vice-Chancellor, VKSU, Nand Kishor Sah, he said that the Dean, Students Welfare (DSW), has been authorised to take decision in this regard. Amit said that the DSW was adamant to decide the team on December 20, 2018, itself.
DSW, VKSU, Prof Kundan Singh said that the VKSU had fixed December 19, 2018, for the selection of team and the date was extended to December 20, 2018, on the request of the students. He said that he had formed a screening committee under Prof Latika Prakash, Mahanth Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalay (MMMM), and the screening committee will take a decision in this regard.
