Buxar : Drawal of pension under Social Security Pension Scheme by at least 3,486 persons, who are not alive, per month in Buxar district came to light on February 3. It was detected during linking of bank accounts of the beneficiaries with their Aadhar Cards.
Buxar District Public Relation Officer (DPRO), Dhirendra Kumar Singh, said that after PM Narendra Modi’s ambitious programme of cashless transaction, Buxar district administration was trying to link the bank accounts of all the beneficiaries of Social Security Pension Scheme with their Aadhar Cards but a number of beneficiaries did not submit their Aadhar Cards.
After this, the district administration inquired into the matter and at least 13,199 out of 1,28,823 beneficiaries were found fake of which 3,486 beneficiaries were found dead years ago but the pension amount was still being sent to their bank account. He said that on the direction of the Principal Secretary, Social Welfare Department, mega camps will be organized at each block headquarters for making of Aadhar Cards.
