Ara: A number of social, political, religious, educational and cultural organizations are helping the flood affected people under six blocks of Bhojpur district.

Members of Agrasen Samiti Ara distributed beaten rice (chuda), jaggery (gud), bread, biscuits and clothes among 3,000 flood affected people at Bharauli village under Shahpur block on Monday. The members of the Samiti collected fund themselves and distributed the relief materials. Manish Agrawal and Dhirendra Jain said that the Samiti is dedicated to social works since its inception and will continue its social work in future too. They said that the Samiti will distribute food packets and other relief materials among the marooned people on Wednesday again and arrange for treatment of ailing persons after the flood water recedes.

D K Carmel school administration and Mata Manjharo Ajab Dayal Singh Teachers’ Training College administration distributed food packets, drinking water, candles, match boxes and polythene sheets among the marooned persons at Neknam Tola and other villages under Barahara block on Monday. The teachers and Principal of the institutions went there on boat to help the affected persons.

Coordinator, Pramandal Banao Morcha, Krishna Kant Tiwari, ex-MLA Asha Devi, Ara Rang Manch, Ara Aadhyatmik Sangthan, Bhojpur District Congress Committee, Bharatiya Janata Party also distributed food packets, drinking water, medicines, clothes, polythene sheets, candles, torches, match boxes, halogen tablets, bleaching powder and other articles among the flood hit persons in different villages under Barahara, Ara, Koelwar, Shapur, Bihia blocks.
