Raxaul : Ranjeet Singh, 38, a social activist who teaches poor students free of cost at Raxaul on Indo-Nepal border in East Champaran District in North Bihar in East Champaran district, is on fast unto death for the last 10 days to press his 14-Point demands related to cleanliness, drainage, waterlogging, road blockad, construction of ROB and Foot Overbridge (FOB), dumping of garbage on the bank of river Sarisawa, and encroachment on roads. His condition is deteriorating fast but the local administration remains indifferent.
The residents of Raxaul Town observed bandh on August 28, 2019, to extend support to Ranjeet Singh and the youths took out a motorcycle rally. Sabnam Ara, a former Ward Commissioner of Raxaul Nagar Parishad said it is matter of shame for the administration and leaders that a social worker is on fast unto death for social causes but they have no time to listen to him.
