Sloane Stephens enters final of French Open 2018

Patna : World No 10 in WTA rankings Sloane Stephens, 25, USA, the 2017 US Open Champion, on June 7, 2018, entered the French Open 2018 women’s singles final beating World No 13 Madison Keys, 23, USA, in the semi-finals on Philippe Chatrier Court, Roland Garros, Paris. Stephens will play World No 1 Simona Halep in the final.

Stephens defeated Keys, whom she had beaten in 2017 US Open final, 6-4, 6-4, in the semi-finals to enter the French Open final for the first time. Interestingly, Stephens could not serve a single Ace in the match while Keys fired 7 Aces. But, Stephens won 3 break points compared to only one by Keys. Stephens committed 1 double faults while Keys committed 2 double faults. Stephen’ winning percentage on both first and second serve was also much better than that of Keys, who had reached semi-finals of Australian Open in 2015.
