Slain Ara trader Imran’s sister Shabnam Tara shot dead, brother injured by criminals

Ara : About a dozen armed miscreants with their faces covered shot dead Shabnam Tara, sister of slain Ara trader Imran Khan, and also injured her brother Waqil Ahmad, 45, son of Alimuddin Khan, at Doodh Katora under Ara Town police station in Bhojpur district on February 25, 2019, evening, and escaped. Waqil Ahamd is an eye witness in the murder of his brother Imran Khan.

Police brought the body over to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for post-mortem and admitted the injured there where the doctors performed operation and took out the pellets from his body. Tension prevails in and around the area following the incident. An FIR has been lodged with Ara Town police station but no arrest has so far been made in this regard. After the incident, police force has been deployed there in large number and the entire area has been cordoned off. Police are conducting raids at different places to arrest the miscreants.

SHO, Ara Town police station, Chandra Shekhar Gupta said that about a dozen armed miscreants with their faces covered attacked the house of a businessman and State RJD General Secretary Waqil Ahmad at Doodh Katora and fired indiscriminately. Waqil Ahamd and his nephew Arshad were seriously injured in the firing while his sister Shabnam Tara, who was standing beside her brother, was shot dead. The deceased was wife of Irshad Khan of Nasariganj. Shabnam Tara had come to her brother on February 25 for the negotiation of the marriage of her younger sister.

Waqil Ahamad said that Gundaraj and Guru Chor of Kasaitol locality under Ara Town police station had threatened his sister Shabnam Tara with dire consequences on February 14, 2019, and she had lodged a named FIR with Town police station against three persons but police remained inactive. He alleged said that the goon of Khurshid Mian had killed his brother Imran Khan three months ago but police remain clueless. He said the miscreants had attacked him for second time within three months and added he is an eyewitness in the murder of his brother Imran Khan. A named FIR was lodged with Town police station against nine persons including Khurshid Mian, who is still absconding.

Dreaded criminal Khurshid Mian and a businessman Imran Khan of Doodh Katora locality under Town police station had a long standing enmity over the possession of shops at Dharman Chowk locality under Town police station and on December 6, 2018, Khurshid Mian along with about a dozen goons had attacked his shop killing Imran Khan on spot and injuring his elder brother Waqil Ahamd and an employee of the BSNL Md Farooq in a broad daylight just about 50 meter away from Town police station.

Meanwhile, Additional District and Session Judge, VI, Ara, Tribhuan Yadav, on February 26, 2019, rejected the anticipatory bail petition of Khurshid Mian of Kasai Tola under Ara Town police station in connection with the murder of businessman Imran Khan on December 6, 2018. Earlier, police had attached his property and a reward of Rs 5,000 had been announced on his head.
