Madhepura : Six persons including three women and three girls died due to electrocution behind a power sub-station in ward number 13 under Murliganj Nagar Panchayat in Madhepura district on July 4, 2017, when a 11,000 KVA live wire snapped and fell in the field when they were plucking Moong there.

The deceased were identified as Sahista Khatoon, 13,  and her sister Rozi Khatoon, 8, daughters of Mohd Nasim, Merjina Khatoon, 9, daughter of Mohd Mustqim, Saiboon Khatoon, 45, wife of Mohd Jamil, Sakila Khatoon, 25, daughter of Mohd Ibrahim, Alisa Khatoon, 28, wife of Mohd Khurshid, all residents of Hanumannagar Chakla under Kumarkhand block in Madhepura district. The villagers held the Bihar State Power ( Holding) Company Limited officials responsible for the tragic incident. Police immediately reached the spot did not allow the locals reach near the spot where the live electric wire had fallen.
