Siwan school boy kidnapped and killed

Siwan : Vishnu Rajkumar alias Rahul, 12, son of cloth merchant and jeweller Rajkumar Prasad, who was kidnapped on August 9, 2017, evening, after he left his Sitaramnagar residence under Town Police Sation, Siwan, for his father’s shop, has been killed. His body was recovered from village Amnouri Sarsar under Mufassil Police station station in Siwan district on August 11 morning triggering strong protest from the people.

Confirming the kidnapping and subsequent murder of Rahul, Siwan SP Saurabh Kumar Sah said that he was a student of class VI at Don Bosco, Siwan. He, however, denied that the kidnappers had demanded Rs 30 lakh from his father as ransom for his safe release.

SHO, Town Police Station, Siwan, Subodh Kumar, said that Rahul left his house at 7 pm just a few minutes after his private tutor had left. He had told his aunt that he was going to his father’s shop. When his father called up at his residence after sometime to know what Rahul was doing, his younger brother’s wife informed him that he had left for his shop. Rajkumar Prasad told her Rahul had not reached the shop. The family members searched for him the whole night but failed to locate him. Rajkumar Prasad lodged an FIR with Town Police station on August 10.

Around 10.30 pm on August 10, Rajkumar Prasad received a call from a stranger telling him that he had seen his son being kidnapped.The stranger also told him that Rahul had somehow managed to write his mobile number on a paper and threw it on the ground on the basis of which he was able to contact him, SHO Subodh Kumar said quoting Rajkumar. The stranger asked Rajkumar to meet him at a particular address but also told him not to tell anyone about him, the SHO said.

But, Rajkumar informed Town Police station about the mobile phone call. Police tracked the owner of mobile phone. The mobile number was issued in the name of Dinesh Prasad of village Majhari under Mirganj police station in Gopalganj district. His address matched with address given to Rajkumar Prasad by the stranger. Police have taken Dinesh Prasad into custody though he has denied his involvement in the kidnapping and murder of Rahul, SHO Subodh Kumar said. Police are interrogating Dinesh Prasad.

Rahul was missing his mother who had gone to her parents’ place telling him that she would return before Chhath. But, her mother told police she had said it in a lighter vein when Rahul wanted to know when she would be returning from her parents’ place.
