Sitamarhi SP suspends SI for harassing Lebanon national

Sitamarhi: Sitamarhi SP Hari Prasath S on July 14, 2017, suspended Town Police Station Sub -Inspector Vijay Kumar Gupta for allegedly demanding money from family members of an arrested civilian of Lebanon.

One Fadi Fadel, a Lebanon national, was arrested near Sitamarhi town for travelling without valid visa on July 8, 2016. He was coming from Nepal. Sub inspector Vijay Kumar Gupta is investigating officer in this case. Recently Fadel`s family members from Lebanon submitted papers and hardcopies at Indian embassy, Beirut, alleging money was demanded from them to help solve Fade’s problem.

The External Affairs and Home Ministries had directed Sitamarhi SP to inquire and report the truth behind the allegation. An inquiry committee was been set up under the leadership of Pupri SDPO Pankaj Kumar. The committee, after going though the papers and audio portion, found the role of the IO suspicious. Thereafter the SP placed SI Gupta under suspension.
