Sitamarhi : A grand function was organised at Dumra field on December 11, 2019, by the district administration to mark the 48th Foundation Day of Sitamarhi district. Urban Development Minister Suresh Kumar Sharma said that Jal-Jiwan-Hariyali is the call of time to save humanity and the planet. He added only by hard labour and strong determination such  missions could be achieved.
DM Abhilasha Kumari Sharma outlined the religious and geographical glories of Sitamarhi and stressed on plantation and water conservation. She said in 1972 the district was carved out and the district travelled rapidly on progress wheels.
Former minister and Bajpatti MLA Ranju Geeta threw light on labourers’ migration and recent deaths in a fire in Delhi. Local manufacturing units and employments are the need of hour, DM Sharma added.
Former minister and MLC Devesh Chandra Thakur, Rameshwar Prasad, MLA, Gayatri Devi, Zila Parishad chairperson Uma Devi, SP Anil Kumar, SDO Sadar Kumar Gaurav, SDPO KV Dhirendra, PP Arun Kumar Singh, Congress party district chief Vimal Kumar Shuklawere prominent among those addressing the function. More than 30 stalls of different organisations and departments depicting were set up at the venue.
