Sitamarhi dist. administration orders for closure of 75 private Nursing Homes

Sitamarhi : Sitamarhi district administration under the leadership of district magistrate Dr Ranjeet Kumar Singh ordered for the sealing and closure of seventy five private Nursing Homes in the district on June 6, 2019. These private Nursing Homes are either illegal or running without qualified doctors. In several cases non-allopaths are running treatment centres with the help of touts.

The district magistrate had been receiving frequent complaints about exploitation of poor patients and lack of quality medicare at these Nursing Home. Recently, labour room death of a woman at a hospital had triggered strong protest by the people. The patients admitted at the sealed Nursing Homes have been shifted to Sadar Hospital, Sitamarhi. On June 5, 2019, night, sudden inspection of Sadar Hospital, Sitamarhi, by the DM  led to arrest of four touts.
