Patna :A Patna Police team on February 9 arrested four more persons in connection with leakage of question papers of Inter level competitive examinations conducted by Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) on January 29 and February 5, 2017. The BSSC exam was cancelled on February 8 after the SIT confirmed the questions were leaked.

Earlier, Patna Police had arrested BSSC Secretary Parmeshwar Ram and a Data Entry Operator Abhishek Kumar in this connection. Police had also raided the house of Ram at Bhagwatnagar under Agamkuan police station and seized several documents from his house. On February 8 late night, police had produced Ram and Data Entry Operator before the court of a sub-judge at his residence near Patna City court. They were sent to judicial custody.

On February 9, SSP said that based on the call details of BSSC secretary and others, four others had been arrested in this connection. He said that the arrested persons run either schools or coaching institutions and they used to fleece Rs 5 lakh to Rs. 6 lakh from each candidate.

The SSP said that one of the arrested persons Rameshwar Kumar had failed twice at matric examination and Intermediate examinations. He said that Rameshwar runs a coaching institute. When asked whether the network of this gang is linked to other states, SSP said he cannot deny it at this moment. It may be mentioned here that the state had been earlier rocked due to toppers Scam of Bihar School Examination Board and its own senior officials were also involved in the racket.

Sources said during his interrogation by SIT sleuths at his Bhagwatnagar residence on February 7, Ram had reportedly said that he was a very ordinary player in the whole game.
