Patna : World No 95 Jannik Sinner, 18, Italy, beat World No 18 Alex de Minaur, 20, Australia, in straight sets in the final to win the Next Gen. ATP Finals Trophy at Milan, Italy, on November 10, 2019, early morning. Sinner, a Wild Card seeded 8th, beat Minaur 4-2, 4-1, 4-2 in the final just 64 minutes to emerge champion. Minaur had not dropped a set in reaching the final.

Sinner won 3 break points in the match besides winning 5 games in a row. Both the players fired 2 Aces each in the match. Both of them also committed one double fault each in the match. Sinner’s winning percentage both on his first and second serve ( 74 % & 63 %) was much better than that of Minaur ( 67% & 25%). The Italian won 36 service points to 22 by the Australian.

Minaur had 9 break points but failed to convert any of them.  It was Minaur’s second appearance in the final of Next Gen. ATP Finals. The Australian had won three ATP titles in 2019. World No 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas, 21, Greece, had won the Trophy in 2018.
