Patna : World Number 2 female Badminton player P V Sindhu and World Number 11 Saina Nehwal, both from India, entered the second round of Hongkong Super Series Badminton taking place at Kowloon, Hongkong, on November 22, 2017. Saina defeated Mette Poulsen, Denmark, 21-19, 23-21, while Sindhu beat Leong Yuet Yee, Hongkong, 21-18, 21-10 in the first round. The Hongkong tournament is the 12th Super Series tournament of 2017 Badminton World Federation (BWF).
In the Men’s section, World Number 10 H S Pranoy, India, too entered the second round on November 22 but Parupalli Kashyap and Saurabh Verma lost their respective first round matches. Pranoy defeated Hu Yun, Hongkong, 19-21, 21-17, 21-15.
