Patna : World Champion P V Sindhu, 24, India, and World No 9 Saina Nehwal, 29, India, entered the quarter-finals of Yonex French Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 750 event, at Paris, France, on October 24, 2019, winning their respective 2nd round matches in straight games.

World No 6 and 5th seed Sindhu beat World No 26 Yeo Jia Min, 20, Singapore, 21-10, 21-13 in 34 minutes in 2nd round.  Sindhu won 42 rallies in the match to 23 by Yeo Jia Min. She won 7 consecutive points in the match to 3 by Min. It was first meeting between the two players.

Saina, the 8th seed, beat World No 27 Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt, 25, Denmark, 21-10, 21-11 in 27 minutes in 2nd round. Saina won 42 rallies in the match to 21 by Line Hojmark. She won 5 consecutive points in the match to 3 by the Dane. saina now leads the Dane 4-0 Head to Head.
