Patna : World No 1 in WTA rankings Simona Halep, 26, Romania, entered the final of French Open 2018 comfortably beating the World No 3 and regining Wimbledon Champion Garbine Muguruza, 24, Spain, in the semi-finals on June 7, 2018, night. Halep roared past Muguruza, the 2016 French Open Champion, 6-1, 6-4, on Philippe Chatrier court, Roland Garoos, Paris.

Interestingly Halep committed 4 double faults to just one by Muguruza. Both the players served just one Ace each during the match. Halep, who is yet win a Grand Slam singles title in her career, won 6 break points to just 2 by Muguruza. Halep’s winning percentage on both first and second serve was much better than that of Muguruza. Halep also won 5 games in a row in the match to 3 by Muguruza.
