Dhanbad ( Jharkhand): Unidentified criminals on late June 25, 2017, night, fired five bullets on  44 year old Pappau Khan alias Pappu Pachak of Wasseypur (Dhanbad), allegedly a criminal himself, of which three bullets pierced his upper abdomen portion and he fell down in pool of blood and was rushed to Central hospital Dhanbad where his condition is stated to be very serious.

The bullets were fired on Pappu by two youth from very close range in crowded Purani Bazar market of Dhanbad, which was witnessing big rush on the eve of Eid, and escaped unchallenged. No one  dared to get near the criminals who were brandishing pistols.

Old  rivalry between  notorious underworld don Fahim Khan and Pappu Pachak is well known in notorious Wasseypur area of Dhanbad. The incident has clearly signalled bloody battle for supremacy in Dhanbad in coming days as both these dons  are dealing in real estate and contract works. Fahim Khan is lodged at Hazaribagh jail. He was shifted from Dhanbad jail few months ago  fearing gang war even in Dhanbad jail. Pappu’s supporters are openly declaring bloody war against Fahim group members in coming days to take revenge.

Soon after the report of firing reached  district  police, dozens of cops were deployed in all sensitive zones including the  Central hospital where Pappu  was kept at critical care unit. He was later  admitted to Durgapur  Mission hospital in Bengal. According to police more than 12 rounds were fired on him.

Dhanbad SSP R M Chouthey stated that raids were on to nab the attackers on the basis of description given by few eye witnesses while CCTV recording of the market place is being looked into to get more  details of attack.When asked whether it  was  result of gang war, the SSP said that everything was being looked into.
