SI arrested accepting Rs 10,000 as bribe in W Champaran

Bettiah : The sleuths of State Vigilance Investigation Bureau on July 18, 2017, morning, arrested red handed a Sub-Inspector (SI) of Lauria police station (PS) in West Champaran district Ebrar Ahmad Khan accepting Rs 10,000 cash as bribe from one Nirmal Mishra of Mishra tola under Lauria police station.

Vigilance Bureau DSP Deenanath Chaudhary said that the Mishra had lodged complaint with the bureau that SI Khan was demanding a bribe Rs 10,000 to arrest the accused in a dowry case lodged with Lauria police station this year. The bureau found the allegation prima facie true after verification. and thereafter laid a trap to arrest the SI. Mishra then fixed a date to pay the amount to the SI and informed the vigilance bureau about it.

On July 18 morning and when the SI was accepting the bribe from Nirmal Mishra at his residence on police station campus, the bureau sleuths arrested him. The arrested SI is a resident of Purakothi under Kaler police station in Arwal district.
