Sitamarhi : A Shramik Special Train from Ludhiana ( Punjab) arrived at Sitamarhi railway station in North Bihar on May 9, 2020, noon, carrying 1,188 migrant workers. The migrant workers were on jubilant mood on their arrival at Sitamarhi. Platform No.1  of the Railway Station where the Special Train arrived was decorated with flowers and balloons. The migrant workers were given a rousing welcome by their family members, relatives, and well wishers. Food packets and water bottles were supplied to them by the administration.
Sitamarhi DM Abhilasha Kumari Sharma, SP Anil Kumar,  DPRO Parimal Kumar, and other senior officials were present at the station. Masks were distributed among unmasked. Maintaining social distancing and following sanitisation process,  a list of migrant workers was also prepared with their mobile phone numbers. Thermal screening of the migrant workers was done by a medical team.
Altogether 975 migrant workers from Sitamarhi and Sheohar districts were sent by buses to different block and Punchayat level quarantine centres. The remaining 213 workers of East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, and other districts were also sent by buses of course following social distancing.

Sitamarhi district administration has set up 1,224 Panchayat and 73 block level quarantine centres with all amenities. This was the third  special train reaching Sitamarhi from different states.
