Ara : Mahadev Prasad, 62, a shop-keeper, who was shot at and seriously by two unidentified miscreants in Ahirpurva locality when he was returning home with his wife after closing his shop, succumbed to his injuries on way to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) on December 23, 2021, late evening.
Later, police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. An FIR has been lodged by Ara Town police station (PS) in Bhojpur District against two unknown persons in this connection on the statement of son of the deceased. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. The deceased was a resident of Ahirpurva locality under Ara Town PS. He ran a shop in Dharahara locality under Ara Town PS.
SHO, Ara Town PS, said that Mahadev Prasad along with his wife was returning home after closing his shop in Dharahara and when they reached near Ahirpurva locality, two unidentified armed miscreants waylaid him and snatched Rs 30,000 cash from him. When he protested, the miscreants shot at and injured him and escaped. He was admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital but the family members took him to a private nursing home at Babu Bazaar. The doctor there referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in view of his critical condition but he succumbed to his injuries on way to PMCH.
Bhojpur SP Vinay Tiwari and the SDPO Himanshu rushed to the private hospital and met the family members and assured them to arrest the miscreants at the earliest.
