Patna: Khagaria Mufassil police station SHO Aashish Kumar Singh sustained bullet injury on his leg on January 2 night during an encounter with criminals. Khagaria SP Anil Kumar Singh on January 3 said that some persons have been detained for interrogation in this connection. He said that raids were on to arrest the criminals, who had opened fire on police team.
Police said that SHO Singh, a 2009 batch SI, along with a police team had carried out raid at village Bhadas to nab an accused of a murder case on January 2 night. Finding themselves encircled by police, the criminals opened fire on policemen. The cops along with SHO retaliated and an encounter ensued in which the SHO sustained bullet injury on his leg and fell down. The criminals escaped under the cover of darkness. An injured SHO was admitted to Khagaria Sadar Hospital where the doctors operated him and removed the bullet.
