Madhubani : SHO, Andhramath Police Station (PS) in Madhubani district, Rajiv Kumar, has been suspended following order from range DIG Vinod Kumar for negligence in Nancy Jha, 12, kidnapping and murder case. DIG, Vinod Kumar, had visited Andhramath on June 1, 2017, evening.
Giving this information, Madhubani SP Dipak Barnwal on June 2, 2017, said that SHO, Rajiv Kumar, had made an ASI as the investigating officer (IO) of Nancy Jha murder case instead of himself investigating this sensitive case. The suspension order has been issued, the SP said. SHO, Kaluahi PS, Ashutosh, has been appointed new SHO of Andhramath police station, he added.
SP Barnwal said that an SIT headed by ASP, Jhanjharpur, Nidhi Rani, IPS, is carrying out further investigation into the case from different angles. Two named FIR accused : Pawan Jha and Lalu Jha, have already been arrested and sent to jail, the SP said.
It may be mentioned here that Nancy Jha was kidnapped on May 25, 2017, and her decomposed body was recovered on May 27. A medical board, which performed the post-mortem, has ruled out rape and said the cause of her death was asphyxia.
The SP said that eight persons were arrested and sent to jail in connection with murder of a father-daughter duo at village Bhachhi under Rahika police station recently. He said that a furious mob of 1,500 people wanted to lynch the 8 accused and police brought over them to Madhubani with great difficulty.
