New Delhi : The Government of India on December 11, 2018, issued a notification appointing Shaktikanta Das, a retired IAS officer of 1980 batch of Tamil Nadu cadre, as Governor, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for a period of three years.
The central government appointed Shaktikanta Das as Governor, RBI, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (1) read with sub-section (4) of Section 8 of the Reserve Bank of India Act 1934, according to a PIB release.
