Ara : About a hundred passengers were injured at Ara railway station on June 6, 2017, when unhappy with the false assurance of the Central government, unemployed youth pelted Archana Express with stones. PM Narendra Modi had assured the employed students to give job to at least two crore youth every year but even after lapse of three years no employment has been generated, they said.

The unemployed boys and girls reached Ara railway station on June 6 and stopped the Mahananda Express on the down line under Danapur rail division by squatting on the railway track and boarding the rail engine. The protestors also raised slogans against PM Narendra Modi and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. In the meantime, Archana Express was passing through Ara railway station on the Up line. The protestors pelted the train with stones injuring over one hundred passengers. Window glasses of the AC bogies were also damaged. Both the trains remained stranded there for over an hour. As a result, several long distance trains were stranded at different railway stations but no senior official bothered to reach the spot.

The protestors said that both the central and state governments had assured to give job but to no avail so far. They demanded to publish vacancies at the earliest otherwise they would be compelled to launch an aggressive agitation.
