Patna : Six- time champaion and World No 26 in WTA rankings Serena Williams, 36, USA, and World No 19 Naomi Osaka, 20, Japan, will clash in the women’s singles final of US Open Championship on September 9, 2018.
Serena, the winner of 23 Grand Slam singles title, beat World No 18 Anastasija Sevastova, 28, Latvia, 6-3, 6-0 in the semi-finals at ArthurAshe Stadium, Flushing Meadows, New York, on September 7, 2018. Serena won 5 break points to just 1 by Sevastova. She also won 7 games in a row to just 2 by Sevastova. Serena’s winning percentage on both her first and second serve was much better than that of his rival.
