Scribe murder case suspect Kaif produced before Siwan court

Siwan: Mohd. Kaif alias Bunty, a sharpshooter and close associate of former Siwan RJD MP Mohd. Shahabuddin, was produced before a local court here on Thursday.

Police sources said that Kaif’s name has been included in the list of the accused in the much publicized Rajdeo Ranjan murder case. Rajdeo, bureau chief of Hindustan at Siwan, was gunned down near Fruit Market in Siwan on May 13, 2016.

Police said that the CBI team, investigating Rajdeo’s murder case, also prayed for remand of Kaif. Kaif was a suspect in Rajdeo murder case but had absconded with another suspect Mohd. Javed.

Kaif hit the headlines after he was seen with former Siwan MP after his release from Bhagalpur jail and later his journey to Siwan. A video had went viral showing Kaif with Shahabuddin. Kaif’s photographs with Health minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s son Tej Pratap Yadav also went viral and it had also created uproar in state politics.

Kaif along with his three associates had sought rangdari from the officials of a local engineering college and was evading arrest in connection with the case lodged with the Town police station by the officials of the college. Later, the Siwan police prayed in a local court for attachment of Kaif’s property. On September 16, a police team reached the house of Kaif at Dakchin Tola and attached his property after getting nod of the court.  He later surrendered before the court and was remanded to judicial custody. Police sources said that Kaif was sent to jail in 2007 in a case of eve-teasing in Siwan and was also accused in several murder and extortion cases. ayy
