Gopalganj: A speeding dumper dashed a school teacher at Hathwa Mor under Meerganj police station in Gopalganj district on January 8 evening. The injured teacher was first admitted to Hathwa Sadar Hospital where the attending doctors referred him to PMCH as his condition was serious. Police have seized the dumper  and arrested its driver.

The injured teacher was identified as Vijaykant Tiwary, a native of Ramnagar in West Champaran district and is currently posted in Primary School at village Barwa Kaparpura. Locals said that the mishap took place when Tiwary was near Marichiya Devi Chowk and a speeding dumper coming from Siwan knocked him down. A large number of people assembled there and caught the driver of dumper. On getting information, Meerganj ps SHO B P Alok also reached there and took the driver to local police station. The family members later reached the police station and lodged an FIR in this connection.
