Ara : Hundreds of primary school teachers on January 12, 2019, hit an effigy of former union minister and national president Rashtriya Lok Samata Party Upendra Kushwaha with sandals hundred times near Shaheed Bhavan, Ara, headquarters of Bhojpur district, to protest against his statement against the teachers during voting on passage of 124th Constitution Amendment Bill providing for 10 % reservation to poor among general category in the Lok Sabha.

Upendra Kushwaha had allegedly stated in the Lok Sabha that the teachers in Bihar did not know even counting up to 100 and insulting the teachers.

Rajanikant, General Secretary, Parivartankari Prarambhik Shikshak Sandh, Bhojpur district unit, while strongly objecting to the er statement of Upendra Kushwaha said that it was a matter of serious concern that a former minister passed such a derogatory remarks against teachers. He asked Kushwaha to tender a public apology to the teachers otherwise a defamation suit would be filed against him and teachers would oppose him wherever he would go during electioneering. He said a number of illiterate persons are Members of the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and state legislatures.

Kushwaha, a professor at Jendaha college in Vaishali district, wasted 4 years under in Prime Minister Narendra Modi regime as he did not do anything in the field of education and was now passing comments against the teachers of Bihar, said Rajanikant.
