Gopalganj: A Class six student of Middle School, Bhatwaliya in Gopalganj district, Kumari Gudia fell unconscious at village Koiynee while participating in the Human Chain on January 21 She was admitted to a local hospital where she died during treatment. Five other students also fell unconscious while participating in the programme organized by the Nitish Kumar government to create awareness about prohibition, in Gopalganj urban area.

Gudia was daughter of Bramha Mahto of village Imiliya under Manjha police station. Her family members said that Gudia along with her sister Pooja Kumari had gone to Bhatwaliya Middle School from where both the sisters went to Koiynee along with the teachers of the school to participate in the Human Chain. They said that while participating in the programme, she fell unconscious and was admitted to a local hospital where she died during treatment.

Meanwhile, Gulshana Khatoon of Dumariya in Banjari locality, Raj Srivastava of Konhwa Primary School, Madrassa student Nagma Khatoon, Chandan Kumar and Anjum Ara Khatoon also fell unconscious at different places in Gopalganj urban areas while participating in the programme. All the students were admitted to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital where they were later released after treatment.
