School girl commits suicide

Ara : Fed up with frequent teasing by miscreants and reluctance of police to take action against them, a Class X girl committed suicide at village Dalippur under Dhangai police station in Bhojpur district late July 30, 2017, evening. Police had to face strong protest of the villagers when they reached the village to take body under their custody. After pacifying the villagers, police took the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

SDPO, Jagdishpur, Daya Shankar Singh said that an inquiry will be held into the alleged police inaction and if they were found guilty, stern action would be taken against them.

Sunita, 14, daughter of Surishth Sharma of village Dalippur under Dhangai police station in Bhojpur district, was frequently teased by some miscreants on way to school and return. Two days ago, three miscreants entered her house and tried to outraged her modesty but had to flee as some villagers rushed there hearing the cry of the girl.

Her mother went to Dhangai police station to lodge a complaint against the miscreants but police shooed her away. The miscreants also teased her on July 30. Upset with it, the girl tied her stole  around her neck in her room and hanged herself with the ceiling fan when other family members were chatting in another room of the house.
