Patna : A division bench of Supreme Court (SC) of India consisting of Justice PC Ghose and Justice Amitava Roy will pronounce judgement on the petitions seeking cancellation of bail granted to RJD leader and former Siwan MP Mohammad Shahabudin on Friday. Shahabuddin was granted bail by Patna High Court on September 7 and released from Bhagalpur central jail on September 10, 2016.
The court continued hearing for third consecutive day on the petitions challenging Shahabuddin’s release on bail. It heard the lawyers of Chandrakeshwar Prasad alias Chanda Babu,his wife Kalwati Devi, whose three children were allegedly killed on instructions of Shahabuddin, Bihar government and lawyers of the RJD leader. On Thursday, lawyers of Shahabuddin continued their arguments justifying their client’s release on bail. After hearing all parties, the court reserved its orders which would be pronounced on Friday.
