New Delhi: The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday cancelled the bail granted by Patna high court to RJD leader and former Siwan MP Mohammad Shahabuddin in a murder case. The Patna high court had granted bail to Shahabuddin in Raushan murder case on September 7, 2016, and he came out of jail after 11 years on September 10. The SC asked Bihar government to send Shahabuddin to jail immediately and ensure quick trial of the case.
Raushan’s father Chandrakeshwar Prasad alias Chanda Babu and Bihar government had move the SC seeking cancellation of the bail granted to Shahabuddin by the high court. Raushan was shot dead in June, 2014. He was witness of the murder of his two brothers Satish and Girish allegedly by the goons of Shahabuddin in 2004. Shahabuddin had got bail in Satish and Girish murder case in February this year.
