Patna: Saran DM Dipak Anand on Saturday received stone injury in leg at village Karimchak when rival groups were pelting each other with stones in the wake of a video which went viral recently triggering tension in the district.
The DM, however, remained unruffled and handled the situation with SP Pakaj Kumar Rai and pacified the crowd. In the meantime, they received report of stone pelting and arson at differnt chowks at district headquarters Chhapra. Senior officials rushed to these places to control the situation. Para-military forces were also deployed to tackle the situation.
Saran Commissioner Narmadeshwar Lal and range DIG Ajit Kumar Rai are also camping at Karimchak. Zonal IG Sunil Kumar and ADG Alok Raj too visited different parts of Chhapra. SP Rai said that two persons had been arrested on August 5 in connection with the video.
