Patna : Saran district administration has geared up for ensuing Sonepur Fair, which starts on Novemver 21 and will conclude on December 22, 2018. Saran district magistrate (DM) Subrat Kumar Sen on November 8, 2018, held a meeting to review the preparations being made for the fair. He directed the officials to complete all arrangements for the fair within stipulated time. He laid stress on cleanliness, security and drinking water facilities at the fair.
DM Sen directed the officials for dividing the entire fair area into sectors and zones with deployment of sanitation employees.
He said that the Public health engineering department (PHED) employees would wear blue dress,Nagar Panchayat personnel green dress and contractual workers orange dress to find out where they have been deployed. There would be dumping
ground at the fair.
The DM said that additional police force would reach the ground on November 18, 2018. PHED executive engineer said that adequate numbers of toilets were being constructed of which 95 would be permanent while 100 would be temporary. SDO, Sonepur, said that a Book Fair would also be held at the Sonepur Fair and agencies concerned were being contacted in this connection.
DM Sen also inspected Mela ground and saw some persons digging soil illegally at Kali Ghat. He ordered for their arrest.
SHO, Sonepur police station cum Inspector, arrested two tractor drivers.
