Patna : Sanjeev Rajput, 37, India, won gold medal in men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions at Gold Coast Commonwealth Games (CWG) on April 14, 2018, defeating Canada’s Grzegorz Sych in the gold medal round. He shot a total of 454.5 creating a Commonwealth Games record i the process. Sych shot a total of 448.4.

An Arjuna Award winner, Sanjeev Rajput, had won silver medal in the same event at 2014 Glasgow CWG. He had also won bronze medal at 2006 Melbourne CWG in 50m Rifle Prone category. He was born at Yamunanagar, Haryana. He joined the India Navy at the age of 18.
