Samrat Ashoka Convention Kendra, Patna, gets best construction project award

Patna : “Samrat Ashoka Convention Kendra Patna”, a prestigious project undertaken by Building Construction Department (BCD), Government of Bihar, has won the coveted 10th CIDC Vishwakarma Achievement Award for best Construction projects in India.

The award shall be presented on March 7, 2018 by “Construction industry Development council “ (Established by planning commission, Government of india and the construction industry). Samrat Ashoka convention Kendra, one of the dream projects of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, is a world class public building for convention activities.

It has three major signature buildings : 1. Bapu Sabahagaar, an auditorium of 5,000 seating capacity 2. Gyan Bhawan with 800 capacity auditorium (lecture theater type), Multipurpose hall and other conference halls of various capacities, and 3. Sabhayta Dwar (Civilization Gate), a symbolic structure encasing Bihar’s glorious tradition and culture which stands at a majestic height of 32 meters. The Dwar is taller than the Gateway of India (Mumbai) and is a unique example of eclectic architecture.

Principal Secretary, Building Construction Department, Chanchal Kumar, said that this is a proud moment for the entire team of Samrat Ashoka Convention Kendra, according to an official release.
