Ara : Some unidentified armed miscreants shot dead a shop owner and injured his friend at Sakaddi Bazaar under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on July 14, 2021, afternoon.

Police brought the body over to the Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there. The deceased was identified as Raju Chaudhary, 35, son of Naresh Chaudhary while the injured was identified as Manraj Raj, 25, son of Hitnarayan Bhagat of the same village. An FIR has been lodged with Koelwar police station in this connection. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants.

The SHO, Koelwar PS, quoting the FIR, said that two unidentified armed miscreants with their faces covered entered a cloth shop at Sakaddi Bazaar on July 14, 2021, afternoon, and shot at the shop owner Raju Chaudhary andĀ  his friend Manraj Raj when they were sleeping there. The miscreants firedĀ  after asking the name of Raju Chaudhary. The injured were rushed to Ara Sadar Hospital but Raju Chaudhary succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.
