Patna : World No 8 in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings Saina Nehwal, 29, India, a former World No 1, tumbled out of Victor China Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 1,000 tournament, at Changzhou, China, losing to World No 18 Busanan Ongbamrungphan, 23, Thailand, in the first round on September 18, 2019.
Busanan beat 8th seed Saina in stfraight games 21-10, 21-17 in 44 minutes to enter 2nd round of the tournament. Busanan won 42 rallies in the match to 27 by Saina. She also won 7 consecutive points in the match to 4 by the Indian. Saina, however, still leads Busanan 3-2 Head to Head.
