Saharsa SP orders probe into third degree torture of man at police station

Saharsa : Saharsa SP Ahswini Kumar on September 2, 2017, asked SDPO Prabhakar Tiwary to inquire into the third degree torture to torture of Panchvati resident Lalu Kumar Yadav, who was taken into custody in connection with kidnapping of a girl from Gandhi Path on August 26, 2017, at Sadar police station.

The SP has asked the SDPO to inquire into the alleged torture of Lalu at the police station and submit his report to him at the earliest. Lalu’s kin have alleged that he was physically tortured at the police station inflicting serious injuries to him. Lalu has been referred to Darbhanga Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for reatment. SDPO Tiwary said that appropriate action would be taken after inquiry. Incidentally, the kidnapped girl is yet to be recovered.
